MRS cottle - Executive headteacher

Qualifications:
BSc degree in Sociology
PGCE Primary
NPQH ( National Professional Qualification for Headship)

Mrs Cottle decided to train as a teacher after gaining her degree and went on to study for a PGCE. Most of her career has been spent in Infant and Primary schools in Hillingdon, Bucks and Berkshire. Mrs Cottle has taught all age ranges in the primary years however fell in love with Early Years  after having her own children. Mrs Cottle was appointed as Headteacher at Cookham Nursery School in 2010 after gaining her NPQH and later became Co – Headteacher for the Cookham, Maidenhead and The Lawns Federation in May 2012. Mrs Cottle is the designated person for safeguarding. Mrs Cottle loves developing the team to grow and be the best that they can be. She is very proud to be leading the Federation as Executive Headteacher from September 2022.

Mrs GREENWOOD - deputy headteacher 

Qualifications

B Ed (Honours) specialising in 3 – 8 age range

Level 4 Elklan course in Speech, Language and Communication

Mrs Greenwood trained in West London and began her career at Hounslow Town Primary School before teaching in Singapore for 6 years. Gaining experience teaching Reception to Year 3, she then returned to London and taught in Kensington before moving to Windsor to co- ordinate the Early Years department at St George’s school.

Both of Mrs Greenwood’s children attended The Lawns Nursery in Windsor and Mrs Greenwood was thrilled to secure a teaching position there as well as providing support to other Early Years settings within RBWM as part of the ‘Foundations for Learning’ Teaching School.

Mrs Greenwood began her new role as Assistant Headteacher at Cookham Nursery in September 2018. She is very excited to work alongside the amazing teaching team, further developing her research and practice into the very best outcomes for our Nursery children.
 

mrs harding - KEY PERSON 

Mrs Harding had always known that she wanted to work with children and study Childcare. She  applied to Langley College after leaving school and gained her qualification in July 2006.  She was fortunate to undertake a work experience placement at The Lawns Nursery School and then successfully applied for a Nursery Nurse role in September 2006.  In September 2019 Mrs Harding began working in Cookham Nursery School.  Mrs Harding works full time in the nursery and she prides herself on building positive relationships with the children.  Mrs Harding is passionate about supporting children’s learning and curiosity, she enjoys seeing children make their own discoveries and learn through play.

MRS Turner - KEY PERSON

Mrs Turner qualified as a teacher, B.Ed in 1982.

During her career she has taught in the London Borough of Harrow, Nursery Schools in Slough and periods of supply teaching (Nursery to Year 1) in Slough and RBWM when her children were younger.

Mrs Turner has been teaching at Cookham Nursery School since 1998 and both of her children have attended the setting.

Mrs Turner also continues to teach three days per week within a Nursery Federation in Slough.

Her passion is for Early Years. 

 Miss Cottle - KEY PERSON

Qualifications

BA (Hons) Working in Integrated Services for Children and Young People and PGCE (QTS)

Miss Cottle began working with children at a primary school in Burnham before deciding to complete her degree through the University of West London alongside working in a school. She has been working at Cookham Nursery School for the past 4 years and is the key person for Green Group. Miss Cottle is enthusiastic about the early years and loves telling stories and acting them out with the children. Miss Cottle also has a passion for art and creativity and loves to find new and creative ways to explore art with the children.

Ms Harrison - key person 

Qualifications

BA (Hons) Working in Integrated Services for Children and Young People

Ms Harrison began working with children in the nursery at Wessex Primary School in Maidenhead after moving from London with her young family. She continued to support children’s learning and wellbeing at Wessex for several years before deciding to study towards her University of West London degree at Langley College.  Ms Harrison recently completed her teacher training in Maidenhead and is excited to be joining the team at Cookham Nursery. She is especially looking forward to exploring the wonderful outdoor environment and loves inspiring children’s creativity and curiosity to develop and learn through play.

I joined Cookham Nursery in 2019 after working as a member of the lunch club team at The Lawns for eight years.  I love being able to play and talk with the children every day as they explore and grow in our lovely setting.  I find my role supporting children with specific needs to access all the nursery has to offer to be hugely rewarding, and it is a privilege to be part of their learning experiences.
 

Mrs Stephenson - early years practitioner
 

Mrs Stephenson has worked in childcare for many years in a range of settings and different roles. She completed her level 3 in childcare at Langley College in 1996 and, at a later date, studied an honours degree in early childhood studies.  In January 2024, Mrs Stephenson joined The Lawns Nursery School team as a 1:1 support assistant and is excited by the new challenges of working at Cookham Nursery as an early years practitioner. She is passionate about supporting children to become confident, independent learners.
