World Book Day 2023 was on Thursday 2^nd March. This week, we have read lots of stories and rhymes as we do every day at Cookham Nursery.  It is essential for children to develop a life-long love of reading. Language comprehension starts from birth, and it develops when adults talk with children about the world around them and through the books (both stories and non-fiction) they read with them, alongside rhymes, poems and songs. We have focussed on looking at books during our Group Time sessions. We talked about fiction and 'fact' books, the author, illustrator and the information provided in non-fiction books. Our parents and carers came to Nursery to read stories to our children. Thank you for coming in. We loved having you.
