Skills to last a lifetime

The children have been learning how to use the Wood Work Area that the team have set up in the outdoor cabin. Using a real woodwork bench, hammers and nails, children use their creativity and skills of concentration as well as their physical skills to make designs form wood.  As Kathryn Solly, former headteacher, author and early years expert quotes, “Woodwork is a bit like a magic carpet of skills which last a lifetime. It involves curiosity, creativity and a rich opportunity to engage with process based learning leading to deep involvement and satisfaction.”
