Fire Bowl

Snack time

On Friday we made a fire in our fire bowl. We toasted marshmallows and drank hot chocolate as part of our snack time! We used a Kelly Kettle to boil the water - an invention that dates back to the 1890’s. It works like a chimney. A fire is lit in the base, and the hot flames travel up the chimney heating the water in the chamber around it. We will use the fire bowl and the Kelly Kettle many times this year as part of our ‘forest school’ learning.
