Rosie's Walk

This week at nursery, the children listened to the story “Rosie’s Walk.” Adults modelled positional language such as over, under, through, around, and across as we moved around the garden.

The children then used their own “Rosies” to explore the garden, talking about the directions they were taking. They also looked at maps, discussing different parts of Rosie’s farm and how these were shown.

To extend their learning, the children created their own maps to navigate around the nursery, using an X to mark the spot—we are still searching for the gold!
