Zed’s Bread

We have been learning about different types of bread by sharing the story ‘Zed’s Bread’ by Mick Manning and illustrated by Brita Granstrom. In the story Zed makes bread with his younger brother and at the end of the story there are pictures of various types of bread. We were lucky enough to discover that one of the children’s daddy works for a company that makes bread.  We were so excited when her mummy brought in a big box which contained rosemary and sea salt focaccia, panini, baguette, brioche and shell rolls, many of which we had learned about in the story.  We were able to use our senses to explore the bread as we smelt, touched and examined it closely. We especially loved tasting it. Thank you to the family for bringing in the bread and making learning about the world so much fun.
