Our very tiny caterpillars arrived in nursery following the Easter break and the children have been watching them closely, making observational drawings of them and looking at books, including Eric Carle’s very popular The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Sure enough, the tiny caterpillars ate well, very quickly grew much bigger and have now spun their cocoons. We have very carefully transferred the cocoons to their new habitat and are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of some colourful butterflies at some point next week.
