The arrival of the chicks caused much excitement, interest and joy.  We were lucky that the children were able to experience the arrival of eight chicks during the course of the nursery day with two more arriving after nursery.  The children were so careful with the incubator as they waited for the chicks to hatch, and they will all get the opportunity to hold a chick before they go back to the farm in a week's time. Alongside this wonderful experience we have been introducing scientific vocabulary and reinforcing it through fiction and non-fiction texts as well as a range of 'life cycle of a chicken' resources.
