It was wonderful to welcome the Earthsong Drummers back to The Lawns again this year with their amazing 'around the world adventure'. Storme and Gill taught us all about the different instruments, what they were made of and how they made sounds. 

The experience was very hands on and enabled the children to take part in choral drumming as well as to play and listen to some more unusual instruments such as the kora from Africa and the didgeridoo from Australia. Whilst the children used their imaginations to travel 'on a plane to Africa' and 'under the sea' they experienced high and low sounds, walking to a beat and the different tempos of the instruments. They decided which instruments would be best to accompany different animals. It's so nice to see how confident and imaginative the children have become during their time at nursery.
