Admissions

Registration

Parents/carers may register their child's name during the academic year of the child's first birthday (1 September to 31 August).

A registration form should be completed and returned to the school office with a birth certificate.  Both the Registration Form and the Admissions Policy can be downloaded from "Admissions Documents".

Visits to the Nursery

You are welcome to visit the Nursery before filling out an application form. An appointment can be made by calling or emailing the School Office. 01628 520002 / cookhamnursery@eyfed.org.uk

Allocation of Places

Places are allocated on a date of application basis.  Children are eligible for a place the term after their third birthday, depending on whether there are places available.  The nursery endeavours to offer places a term in advance, however this is not always possible.

Offer of a Place

In the term before starting you will receive an offer of a place.

Home visits
These are arranged for the first day(s) of each term. The visit gives you the chance to talk to your child’s key people about their development, their personal likes and dislikes and it gives staff the chance to meet the child in their own environment. We would recommend that you take up the option of a home visit as we feel it fosters our relationship with the child and the parents and helps us to build up a holistic picture of every child.

Nursery visits
Children will be offered a shortened session to attend with their parents(s) at the start of the term they join the school. This enables the children to become familiar with the environment guided by their parent(s).

The First Day
New children do not all start on the same day, and you will be given a date for your child prior to the home visit.
